Default Robin Miller health status

I’ve followed INDYCAR racing for what seems like forever. And if you follow it, you have to know Robin Miller. He has been one of the biggest cheerleaders and critics of the series. He can be harsh in his criticism, but he is almost always right, and he is always honest. And he is always entertaining.

He has been battling bone cancer, which took him off of TV coverage a few years ago, and now his health has apparently deteriorated to the point where he’s no longer writing.

If you want a great and entertaining look at him check out the Dinner With Racers podcast episode

Sorry to hear. I always liked him. He is pretty opinionated at times.

He’s opinionated pretty much all the time, and most of the time he’s right.

An update direct from Robin Miller.

https://racer.com/2021/07/31/miller-...-racer-nation/

A few weeks ago I sent him well wishes in an email using the address that Racer provided and I’ll be damned if he didn’t answer within a day or two.

Thanks for posting.

I remember during the IRL/CART split when Robin spoke truth to power and that power forced the Star to fire him.

He was good before that, and incredible afterwards,

With Racer, he was allowed to speak his mind, however uncomfortable it made people, but was loaded with truth and profound insight.

His Mailbag series is something I read almost every time it came out.

More than anything, he’s leaving us with a rich legacy of history on the golden days of racing at Indy, and all the steps that people climbed to get there.

That “Letter to Racer” says it all.

People have always bugged him to write a book but I"m afraid it may be too late. I too was surprised (and pleased) to get a personal email response back from him a couple days ago. When I read he may move to the PHX area to be around family, I invited him to our local C&C group for some bench racing... have run into him many times at various races and he always treats you like a old time friend.

Boy,the stories he could tell!! With Uncle Bobby now gone, and AJ getting into his mid '80's, the legends are disappearing... sadly. And Bob Jenkins just passed as well. Haven't heard much from Paul Page lately either...

(just don't ask him if Milwaukee or Cleveland are coming back! )

He even narrated a couple pieces during the pre-race last weekend, though his voice sounded a little weak unfortunately. Hope he rebounds some.

(in a related note, I saw Rufus Parnelli Jones at Laguna Seca last Saturday with George Follmer and Tommy Kendal during a "roundtable discussion" and he looked and sounded pretty frail. George looked pretty good considering.)

Wow sorry to hear that. They’ve been fighting that for a long time.

Huge loss for motorsports in general, and motorsports journalism in particular. RIP Robin
