120 Vettes to the Crusher
GM is planning to crush all 120+ damaged C8 Corvettes from last month's storms, rather than taking the chance of having potentially defective cars end up in peoples’ hands. Owners slated to receive the now-destroyed and soon-to-be permanently crushed cars are being contacted by their local Chevy dealers to re-submit orders.

Wow. The only thing odd is they are making people resubmit their order. I would think they would remake the car and handle that.

They should sell them as salvage to race shops for track use only instead of wasting them.
Big companies get stupid with liability once they start listening to their lawyers.

I would guess it's quicker and easier to get the insurance money and destroy them. It's probably a bean counter decision. Obviously bean counter who consulted a lawyer who doesn't like risk.

The only thing worse than a bean counter, is a bean counter who takes their orders from a lawyer!

When you place a CPO, which all these are, the VIN is issued when the car is produced. Since that VIN will be no more, they need to enter it into their system again.

Bring back the Pintos! Remove the safety belts, safety glass, airbags, etc. Lawyers. Who needs them?
