Rear Axle Grease Leaking from Centerlock?
Has anyone had this problem? What is going on?

Three Wheelin'
Someone lubed the center nut and/or spindle and put too much?

I hadn't added any additional grease, it just seems to be coming from the center of the axle and I can't figure out where or why it keeps happening.

Silver Goop?
Is that the silver paste? My GT3 CL wheels do the same thing, just not as much as yours.
There's a silver goop used to lubricate the inside hub when changing wheels.
We use as little as possible, and if it's still on there form the last wheel change, we don't use any additional goop.
Stuff gets everywhere...like fish scales.
That's what it looks like to me.

It just keeps coming back every time I go out on track and is only happening with this one wheel so that’s why I’m so confused with what it is. I wipe it off and it just keeps coming out…. Ugh

Maybe it's not the goop. What does your shop say it is?

The small hole in the stub axle is a vent for the cv joint. The grease in the axle has become liquified from wear/overheating.

Thanks everyone, looks like I'll be pulling the driveshaft and buying some Krytox to re-pack it assuming everything looks right. I also have a spare axle so I may just swap that in and rebuild this one when I have a bit of time on my hands.

Neo grease also works well, a bit cheaper, and easier to clean - assuming you are using the Krytox requiring chlorinate cleaners...

I use a small piece of Scotchbrite pad, rolled up and inserted into the vent hole in the end of the axle. Its just dense enough to keep the grease in, but lets the air vent out. Just leave enough hanging out so that you can pull it out with a pliers.
