Default Recaro recall? Profi SPG XL

Anyone heard about this recall? Recaro have sent letters to customers with a recall notice for their Profi SPG XL seats, made from 2017 to 2022. They recommend to stop using them immediately. Recaro mentions that replacement seats will be available in the Fall 2022

Good stuff, just spent many (many, too many) hours putting these in about a month ago. Probably fine, but maybe not. I am going to reach out to vendor that sold them to me. Thanks for posting.

Wow, i was just about to buy some of these as my only way to get a bucket seat for the car and have usable harness holes with a 3 point belt.
what are our options now? spend 20k on recaro podiums?

There are other manufacturers of seats aside form Recaro: https://www.sparcousa.com/vehicle-seats-competition for instance.

Yeah our PCA region tech guy emailed this out to everyone last week. Bummer, these are popular seats.

I have a set in our car. I really really like them. Not sure what I'm going to do.

Are any regions going to fail you at tech for having these seats? Finding seats that a) fit the car and b) fit you is challenging enough and then add supply chain issues….could be a while before people running this seat have a replacement

Yes, I'd fail you at tech for having these seats. Recaro has recalled them and said to not use them.

I’ve been impressed with RaceTech - and moved to it from a Recaro, with a similar fit. Regular width, that is. Not sure how the XL sizes/fit compare, np but the brand might be worth checking out.

Good info. Trying to figure out where I got mine and see what they recommend or if they will even refund or exchange.

Agree. Racetech will likely be my next seat. I sat in one recently and really liked it. Have one of their steering wheels in my SPB.

Recaro has done a p*ss poor job of notifying folks about this. The vendor was also less than helpful. I found this link on another site how to submit a claim.

Yes. You're not the original purchaser of the seats, no warranty on used items. Just like if you bought used control arms or used bilsteins or used anything else
