CG Lock - Anybody holding and general questions about seatbelt tensioners
#31
I have used a CG lock years ago and felt only very little improvement.
I can suggest one other approach: move the seat back a few inches, jank on the shoulder seat belt to "lock" it, keep holding/pulling/tension on the shoulder belt and slide the seat forward. You'll end up with essentially a pre-locked/tension seat belt so it's tight at the shoulder and waist.
I haven't done this for years but thinking about it more critically now it may limit some of the natural give/flex you get on a belt in the event of an accident.
Of course... nothing comes anywhere near a 6 point belt and a race seat.

I started this thread two years ago. The CG lock worked well as a moderate improvement with three point belts and street seats.
Like steveP911, I moved up to racing seats, six points, and a roll bar.
Anyone that follows the thread and wants the CGLock, LMK via PM. I'm soaking up the sun for a few weeks but will be able to get it to you around Presidents Day.

You need at least three posts in order to have private messaging activated. Should be good to go, now!

Maybe not what you're looking for, but my version of a CG Lock was to twist the buckle 180 degrees before connecting to the latch and tugging the belt tight. Did a decent job of holding me to my seat before I moved to a dedicated track car.
