I know I was (possibly) hammered, but my wife said I asked your brother if he could move the blue bushes back a few yards. I did not ask him that, right?

No, you did. LOL BTW-where's the "blue bushes?" Neither one of us understood what you were talking about.

Oh man. I was ashamed of myself for asking that, but now I don’t feel so ashamed.

Blue Bushes = Armco (those pesky little walls that started life as blue but are now multicolored).

10 miles south of Baltimore Harbor Tunnel. I freakin HATE towing through DC. Hate it!!!
Next stop, NJ Turnpike.

We all call them the blue bushes. I left a touch of the blue on my RR fender years ago, wonder if it's still there.

Yes, I’ve always called them the blue bushes. Live and learn.

Home. Yay, but damn that’s a long tow.

DC sucked. Otherwise uneventful 2 day tow.

Wife now wants a place in Florida, east coast, dock for fishing boat, lifts for jet skis, easy canal access to saltwater for fishing.

That’s what I came home to. Not “how was the drive” or “whatcha want for dinner”.

Nope. First thing out of her mouth:

“I think we need a place in Florida”….

LOL! The bug bites hard once you realize there are places where it is sunny and warm year round…

Maybe snowbird it for a year……(see, all she had to do was plant the seed). Make no mistake though, I’m gonna make her “water” that seed a lot before it sprouts.

VR nailed it, no good deed……
Roblin nailed it. The bug bites hard….

She already had about 40 listings bookmarked by the time I got home today, and she only got home yesterday.

Vero Beach, east coast, middle of the state.
That’s where I landed.
Not the worst place on the planet and a damn sight better than NJ.
Left there eight years ago and never looked back.

Will buy a home in Sarasota likely next year though I will not be a snowbird. We will both head down in September, she will stay until June. I'll leave 1/1 to ski either out in Utah as a ski patroller and/or NY until April then re-join her. Been going to SRQ for 38 years often, I could live there temporarily yearly.

She wants to be south, like West Palm Beach south and south of that. She wants guaranteed winter weather. That kinda rules out anything north of Palm Beach County.
She’s thinking Boynton Beach, West Palm, Lauderdale, Delray, Boca, etc.
I am also keeping anything east of Marathon all the way to Largo in my back pocket. We had our boat in Islamorada for the winters before the kids were born. We’d drive it down in the Intercoastal in October and drive it back up to NYC in April and fly back and forth all winter. 7 day trip each way, all inland until NY Harbor. Talk about some amazing fishing. Nothing like the Keyes for that.
This will be a process, hopefully not too painful a process.
Wherever we buy, it has to have that saltwater access with docks and lifts in the back yard, so something on one of the canals off the Intercoastal. Like I said, PB County and south.
She was shocked how cold it got for a night or two in a Sebring.

Charlotte.
About the most center to all the eastern race tracks...she loves race tracks right?
CMP: 90 min
VIR: 2.5 hrs
Road Atlanta: 3 hrs
Roebling Road: 4 hrs
Barber: 6 hrs
Summit Point: 6 hrs
Daytona: 8 hrs
Mid Ohio: 8 hrs
NJMP: 8.5 hrs
Sebring: 10 hrs
Watkins Glen: 10 hrs

Weather is nice most of the year - yes we get some winter here and there, but even gets 70 deg in January sometimes. Charleston 3 hrs, Asheville and the mountains 2 hrs...and LOTS of great driving roads near by. There are NO good driving roads in Florida.
