FWIW, I was a longtime PCA Club Racer (SPB) and DE Instructor until age and various health setbacks brought down the curtain. A few years ago, I witnessed a situation that perfectly illustrated one of the reasons for a drop in PCA new racer participation. A former DE student of mine (one of the most talented I ever rode with) ended up sharing a car with me at several ChampCar events. He had developed into a pure racer and lapped our car 2-3 seconds faster per lap than any of the other drivers. He never put a foot wrong. I asked him if he'd consider co-driving my car with me in a PCA Enduro. We set about trying to get him licensed. He jumped through all the medical and paperwork hoops, and his application went to National for approval. It was denied. PCA refused to recognize his 14 races in ChampCar. Despite my glowing letter of recommendation, fully endorsing his application (as a former instructor and co-driver of his), PCA said, essentially, that because he no longer OWNED a Porsche (although he had maintained his PCA membership for more than 15 years), he was not eligible to race in PCA. My buddy continues to race (and kick ***) in WRL and ChampCar. And PCA lost a potential racer.
Shut down- if you can't check their boxes.
Sad,definitely contributes to ongoing PCA racer decline.

One of the customers at the shop in the building we're in I think has a HPDE car that fits into the class criteria, so he's thinking of finishing it off to fit ME1 class. At least that's what I gathered from a quick conversation.
