Tips For Miami Grand Prix
Planning to attend this year's Miami Grand Prix and would love to learn from others who attended last year. Are the F1 Experience Packages worth it? Suggestions on parking? Pre-pay? I live an hour north of the circuit and plan to attend Saturday and Sunday, maybe Friday,
Thanks in advance for your insights.

Going with a buddy who just got into F1. He lives in Delray (so also about an hour north). They allocated a parking pass based on location of grandstand tickets

I'll be there with McLaren Paddock Club all 3 days. This will be my first Miami event also. Been to Austin couple times. Would love to get feedback on what to look out for in Miami.

No experience with miami specifically but IMO if you can get covered or preferably covered catered box seating it is worth every penny to be out of the sun and not have to deal with the normal crowded stands. I also found being in a box it was usually mostly empty for the seats because not many people in those things actually care about watching the race and were just hanging out chatting. Not that watching it in the stands sucks, but it's just so much better if you're comfortable and not shoulder to shoulder, knee to back, baking in the sun.

Did gen admission and just Friday last year to see what it was all about.
Traffic surrounding the circuit was awful. Exited the highway and gridlock for about an hr to get to our parking lot.
Then it was an hr + to leave the parking lot. Seemed to be no traffic plan in or out of the area, guess that was to be expected when the circuit occupies all stadium parking.
Not sure what the solution is. Arrive as early as possible and maybe plan to stay until they kick you out.
Extra-long day would made easier by an "experience" type deal. Explore the circuit and vantage points whenever, but then have somewhere to go and chill out of the sun. And just my take, if you're not embracing the glitz of the whole deal, hospitality, food, drinks, babes, it falls short on a motorsport experience level.
Stadium walkways provided some cool views. Brake zone going into T11 was the motorsport highlight for me, nothing should be able to stop in that space from that speed.

Best tip ... watch on tv. Use the money saved on the outrageous pricing, fly to Europe (or even Montreal), and watch a race at a much better venue for far less money.

Have to admit I would love to do a F1 race in Montreal... was at Expo 67 as a kid and need to go back!! Seats at the hairpin would be awesome, but only if we didn't have to have another Kubica moment!!

Great venue for the race! I was impressed by the logistics. You can stay downtown and then take the train to the island where the track is, just 2 or 3 stops away if I remember right. No issues with traffic, dealing with bus rides from the parking lot to the track, etc. Only real crowds were at night when everyone was partying downtown ... and that's not necessarily a bad thing. LOL
I live 30 minutes from the Miami race and I have no desire to go.

We have seats on the start/finish, so not a lot of racing/braking to watch, but should have a view of the start and into the pits/garages. Apparently parking was included with the tickets, so we'll see how that works out. Had a bad experience with parking at COTA, so planning the go-early-stay-late strategy.
