Miami GP Viewership U.S. Drop
Maybe a little less time spent fawning over celebrities that can't tell an F1 car from an Indy car might help.
Miami GP sees massive drop in USA viewership, despite being the second-most watched F1 race ever in the country (firstsportz.com)

I think the audience was composed of Drive to Survive viewers and most of the traditional viewers turned it off.
I hate the Miami GP. The fake lagoon, the attempt to introduce the drivers like it is the WWE, and the fact that I just hate Miami. Stupid street circuit as well which yielded a boring race.
Did I mention I didn't like it?

I was reading something the other day and someone posted a picture of a menu from one of the places where you could purchase food. I don't know if this was fabricated or not, but the cheapest item on the menu was $200. So, me and my 3 friends spend $1000 for a meal?? No thanks...

What are the numbers for watchers in the US who pay for F1 TV? What if it increased? There are so many ways to watch the races, people don't need to just sit there at the designated race time and tune in at the same time to a single channel anymore. I pay for F1 TV and watch it typically the night of just because it is most convenient.

The pre-race hoopla made me embarrassed to be an American. And the track is something a child drew on a parking lot map. It's like the Fyre festival organizers actually delivered a product.
I am already having nausea thinking about the Las Vegas show. It'll be Miami on steroids.
BTW, the racing in IndyCar is better these days. Equal cars with driver skill/experience being paramount. I'm hoping things in F1 improve as I've been a fan since 1980 or so but I have doubts.

Talk about not respecting your core audience, like a lot of promotion efforts there is a greater focus on expanding your audience instead of any concerns for losing your core. The TV coverage was terrible I turned it off early due to rappers and celebrity focus and got busy at home and only watched race later as recorded. Where is David Hobbs when you need him 😀

We were sitting right at the start line, so I'll just say that the pre-race introductions were just as bad live as it must have been on TV. The expensive food list was in one of the fancy suites I guess, the regular concession food for us normal people was not like that at all. Beer was like 8 and 9 dollars, so way less than I've seen at Madison Square Garden! Parking was included with the grandstand ticket and that part of the weekend worked very well.
pre-race show finally ended so we can watch the race!

WWE analogy is spot on, was embarrassed this is what we show the rest of the world. As far as the race... no joking here, I fell asleep twice!
I sub to F1 TV to watch the races at my leisure and have tech talk programs playing in the background while hanging out in the barn.

Of all the things missing from this race, I think overtaking/passing zones were missing the most. Made for really boring laps.
Just a dumpster fire. Hard to believe that this is the same game I used to love to watch. Sad.....
