Default Annoying Miatas ruining track days

I hear from fellow P-car drivers all the time about how irritating it is sharing the track with Miatas during HPDEs.

This video does a good job showing just how annoying it could be with a Spec Miata and a Turbo S sharing the same track.

Lol.

My race car is slightly slower than a spec miata on the straight and is a fair bit faster in the corners, and ya its frustrating being held up in the corners by most stuff on the track, then spending infinite work to pass someone in the corners and finally after them easily repassing you on the straight the 5th time you make it stick on the 6th pass, but it's also sooo much fun driving a car like that. Not that it isn't fun passing everyone everywhere in some sorta space rocket race car too, but it's different fun.

You learn a lot about being efficient with your momentum with a zero powered car and in road racing you learn how to setup hard passes and how to block them from repassing to make it stick because every pass is a hard pass, which is why I think it is a good starting point for most people to learn race craft. Then someday when you graduate to something faster you won't have to worry about miatas buzzing around you like flies, and then when you go for that 'easy' pass on a straightaway you'll appreciate it that much more.

Preach! I should have specified that the comments are always from people in modern/high HP GTs, Clubsports, Cups, etc. but didn’t want to spoil the surprise.

I know this guy in a low-powered car that when the opportunity arises he'll point a faster car by going up the Esses at WGI....he goes all the way track left hugging the curbing all the way up the Esses leaving tons of room and yet there are times when the passing car WON'T GOSo yeah, it can be frustrating but still a blast, says this guy......
