Paul Page did a very fine job with that intro, much better than Sam Posey's BS F1 intros!
But his in-race commentary always seemed like a joke to me, like he should have been calling a sport he actually knew something about.
Perhaps bowling?
Unfortunately, we're now saddled with Leigh Douchebag. A graduate of the David Croft school of broadcast...

Really cool to see the driver's kids coming up to the platform in the driver's introductions. Gonna be a good one!

Not a fan of green>checker without a white, but Josef and The Captain did a great job. Was pulling for Santino, A.J. and the #14 car, though.
I saw Josef coming in the first fifty laps, though. He was definitely hooked up.

I would've liked to see the race finish under yellow with Ericsson winning but am genuinely pleased for Newgarden.

It was incredibly fortunate that the wheel that flew off did not land on the fans. It apparently landed around some cars and carts.

Watching that tire fly was scary. A good friend of mine who I raced with was at an IndyCar race several years ago at Michigan when tires went into the crowd and killed a couple people. It was not fun to be in the grandstand next to that…
that could’ve been disastrous.

Doesn’t NASCAR have a three lap protocol for the finish of a race? It might be for overtime, but it might just work for Indycar.

That would have been a real disaster. I just gasped when I saw that tire go flying. Do they have a blanket covering the damage on that car? I bet it ripped a complete whole in that hood.

Great post race interview with Josef Newgarden by Marshall Pruitt of Racer Magazine. Good insights into the mind of a winner. Very well spoken.
