Default Garage 56- Le Mans

This deserves its own thread.... yeah I'm a 50+ year F1 fan who also enjoys sports cars and indycars, and I can't wait to watch the 24 this weekend and follow the Garage 56 car. Doesn't hurt that Jenson is and has always been one of my favourites. Some great videos over at racer.com.

Was lucky enough about a month ago to see the car in person when getting a close up tour of the Hendrick campus in Charlotte. Have to admit I've gotten into the tin tops more of late, and it kind of reminds me of the old trans am days...

Have to assume I'm not alone...

You’re not! I’ve been keeping up with their social media postings and news around their entry. I can’t remember following any single car closer than than this. I really hope they run the distance. I think mechanically they’ll be good, it’s getting caught up in an incident is what worries me the most.

It was really wild to watch a little bit of practice today! Seeing that car out there with those teeny tiny little prototypes was hilarious

On my way as well. It's a little conflicting as I'm wanting to bask in the last time I'll see the 991 RSRs raced in anger and dominate the tin tops, but I also want to see the Garage 56 car flex some 'merican muscle as well. I'm guessing the Garage 56 car isn't here this weekend for a long time, but it's here for a good time.

That's a serious driver lineup! I hope they can complete the 24.

Best thing in a long time, right up there with the AMA having a king of the baggers race.

So the #24 times are between LMP2 and LMGTE AM. Was this expected? Is it because all the BoP stuff doesn't apply or that the build of this car just isn't restricted by all the regulations of LMGTE?

But seems to be moving pretty well through some of the transition sequences. (of course maybe the gnats are just playing nice during test day)

I must have been living under a rock because I had not heard of this entry. This is awesome.

On my bucket list is to go to Le Mans, with a little bit of crystal meth, so I can stay up the whole 24 hours!

The car is awesome, hopefully Johnson doesn’t put it into the wall in his first race stint and they can finish the race. Would be an epic accomplishment.

What’s annoying the hell out of me are the comments from people saying how it’s “beating” GTE by so much…ok, BOP this thing and then let’s talk.
