A big thanks to big Pete, the Schattenbaum region, and the PCA team for a great event. I had a pretty good weekend with the 911Cup class despite an oil induced accident and being hit by an overly aggressive SPB driver who annoyed almost every other driver.
These 911Cup cars are a blast to drive and I had a good time duking it out with the other 911Cup and SPB drivers. There was some good close racing and I continue to learn more about my car with each race.
I would like to offer a bounty of half a bag of Swedish Fish for the head of the driver of the teal blue SPB car. (Only kidding PCA! Only kidding!)
No, I'm not!

He had a pretty exceptional record at NJMP; he had three contacts in three races! I never saw him on track fortunately - but I've seen enough video from drivers I know quite well to suggest he shouldn't be racing wheel-to-wheel ... at least in PCA

So funny you used the term "wheel-to-wheel"...

Enough on the kid; let's refocus on how awesome NJMP is for racing!! This race really should have 125+ cars. Where else can you get three practice sessions; a qualifier; three sprints; AND an enduro?!?! In our Blue Sprints and Orange Enduro, we had a single double yellow! Talk about track time. Here's some video from right after that double yellow when I opened the door for Mike Piera to come through for the lead - and then a few others a few laps later ...

Awesome video! Great racing! Great driving by all three of you! Moses went full send at 1 and nearly pulled it off.

Maybe if we had 125-150 racers we could have beer carts and barbecue like SP!!!

I totally agree with this....Schattenbaum runs a first class event. Going back to the Petchel days and then Bono and now Debussman....this race is organized by people who really know what they're doing. It IS a great track and I'm not just saying that as a garage/condo owner.

Fun event, thanks to all who made it work!
Car actually made it through a race for once!!! Tires were not great... but I got around and it saved a bunch of cash. Not overly crazy about the run group combo. Forgot that groups were different for the enduro. In retrospect… I would have skipped R3 and just ran enduro for a change of pace.
Took a VERY bumpy ride across the grass at T2 in race three. Now my splitter is added to those poor souls buried in shallow graves somewhere in the Garden State
R3 highlights. Race one is also on youtube.

This video is the first half of the enduro where I was having some fun mixing it up with Eugene and some of the SPBs. Unfortunately, the repair to my tail pipe following my oil induced incident in race 1 let go with a few laps left and I was black flagged and unable to finish.
Speedsport built me a really good engine and this is the first weekend where I felt like I could drive the car. As the weekend progressed I started making setup changes and the car started to improve.
There is a spin at 26:30 which baffles me. Did I hit fluid? I think I come off the brakes a little abruptly, but not enough for the car to throw itself into a spin. Thoughts?
All in all I count the weekend a win, despite some problems, as I got some good seat time and felt like I improved with every race. Looking forward to Summit Point!
