Default Gururack still modifying bumper beams?

Not sure what the best forum for this post is but thought I’d try here…I recently purchased a preowned tire trailer with the intent of towing it with my 718 after getting the bumper beam modified to accept a trailer hitch.

Over last couple of weeks, I tried reaching out to gururack both through the contact page on their site and via email (info@gururack.com) but haven’t heard back.

Wondering if anyone has a cell phone number for Oliver @ gururack. It would be immensely helpful.

TIA

Not sure what needs to be done to your car, but I installed my hidden hitch on my 996 Turbo myself. Didn't find any of it particularly difficult, so maybe try and do it yourself?

there aren’t any bolt-on options available for these cars that I’m able to find. Likely due to the underbody panels and/or exhaust setup.
what gururack does/did was to modify the bumper beam with a receiver tube…

Looks like he cuts a hole in the bumper beam for the receiver and bolts it into place, along with two eyelets for the safety chains. Not really all that different than what I did to mount my Sport Tow/Wilwood hitch. So, not that hard, you'd need to find a 1 1/4" hitch receiver to cut up, then mount it.

i see what you’re saying now… I may have no choice but to go there diy route. That our find a local fabricator. Sourcing a 1.25” hitch receiver shouldn’t be too difficult

I do like what he does with the rear license plate, very slick as compared to just mounting the plate on a hinge

i agree that it is slick. That said, my car lives outside and I can see those drawer slides corroding at some point.

I had this installed on my 718 Boxster last week by Oliver. It is very slick and he really knows all the little tricks to making it clean. He originally developed this for a buddy with a 911 who was quoted pretty stout $$ from Willwood. His primary business is as a wholesale industrial fittings/valve distribution. Now, I'm sorting the wiring harness as he doesn't mess with that. Then, I'll pick up the Leroy Engineering grid trailer which is in Pittsburgh, PA.
