Default Jack with about 2" lowest height and 20" raise

Hi All,
I'm looking for a jack for my formula cars so that I don't have to roll it up on 2x4 to get a jack under it. I already have a quick lift formula style jack which works well but gets the car about 6-7" off the ground.
So I want one that has a very low clearance like 2" but can also get up to at least 20" raise. All of the Harbor Fright stuff is a min of 3.3 inches. I've had a Griot HD jack for years which is now dead. It was exceptionally low.

Please no jokes about jacking and using wood.

Why not just rebuild the cylinder in the Griot jack?

I would advise to get a decent jacking in before you have people over. You don't want to look like a rookie when it comes to jacking thing off up.

There's a guy in North Bundaberg who is selling what you need.

I also need a second jack for a shop I'm setting up.

I just found Pit Boss jacks which are under 2 inches but $2000. Um, no.

Second rebuilding the jack you have if you are happy with it. Check with the manufacturer or hydraulic rebuilders who service your brand of jack.

I don't have any good jokes to add, looks like the others have it covered!

There is an ultra low harbor freight jack that goes around 2.5". It only has around 16 max height though. I have one and it works pretty well. I think they are $300.

I have this jack and it's great and it still requires me to put something under the wheels to get clearance.
Aside from putting something under the wheels I can use my quick lift to put down 6" chassis stands which then gives me ample clearance to use the big floor jack to lift to 20."
I'm just looking for a short cut.

And I will look into getting my gigantic Griot jack fixed. It puked all of its oil out.

Dave,

I found these two products when I was looking but I am not sure either is still available
https://otctools.com/products/2-ton-...ra-low-profile
Out of stock everywhere I looked now
Amazon Amazon

Hard to tell if these guys are still in business
Brunnhoelzl Pro Flat Jack
Seems to be for sale here but I have ever purchased anything from them
https://www.portcityracecarsus.shop/...ity-race-cars/

I like AC Hydraulics but their lowest is over 3in

Good luck.

Mark

Currently unavailable. Damn.

I have the same issues because of the front tie downs on the 981S.

This jack does look perfect but says unavailable with no ETA.

Guess I'll stick with the 2x4 blocks for now...

You may want to post this on Apexspeed https://www.apexspeed.com/forums/forum.php where most of the formula car guys hang out to see if anyone else found a solution.
When not racing, we keep my car on transport wheels, which are basically 20" motorcycle wheels & tires: https://www.rsport.us/Rsport_Transport_Wheels.html

You can put any kind of jack you want under the car when they are on transport wheels. When on race tires, we just use a 1/2" board to raise the front up enough to use the MK Technologies nose jack: https://www.mktechnologies.com/

MK Technologies does have some formula car lifts are not very portable, but go very high. That might be what you want.

Take a look at the Arcan XL2T. Here's a listing on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Arcan-2-Ton-Steel-Profile-A20016/dp/B007G83T16/ref=sr_1_3_sspa, but you can find it at other places too. Goes from 2.75" minimum height to 24" max height.

I've been using a pair of them in my garage for many years, and have been quite happy with them.
