Introducing the Aircooled 911CUP Cup

It’s not really the same thing. The West Coast Series is a variety of classes and the awards that carry the “West Coast Series” name and are clearly subordinate to national awards. What Jason has announced appears to be a Championship Cup specifically for the 911 Cup class put out by either PCA National or the 911 Cup class. It makes no mention of “East” in the championship title. It sounds like the winner wins the “911 Cup” Cup award…not the “East Coast 911 Cup” Cup…so it the title sounds like a national championship. There is no special “911 Cup” Cup awarded to the West Coast Series 911 Cup winner.
Now, I have no standing in regards to this as I race in GT3. The verbiage just seemed “national”…for all I know you guys on the east coast have talked this over with the west coast folks and I am kicking up dirt that no one wants kicked up…

But like you said, you have no standing ... so let us enjoy our thing, k thanks?

The bigger question is is how homologating SP911 and 911Cup makes sense.

I need a drink ... is it 5:00 yet? Maybe on the West Coast?
Nothing says you have to be from the East to participate; that just happens to be where our races for this Cup are located. We'll take anyone. Even Todd. (Love ya).
But let's not think about this too seriously - its just a silly marketing exercise to get racers excited, and coordinated to attend the same races (in a region where race weekends are much more spread out and compete with one another for racers' attention). All I want are big car counts and race wins. I'm not asking for a lot

Am I making it better or worse?

I bet if you gave out a handle of Cuervo to participants you would get more racers in 911CUP.
I think what you've got going is mega cool and more than just a poster/graphic or NAME. Even if you let Luigi in. Lawyers do ruin the fun though...

Some of us have standards ok. I draw the line at Jose Cuervo Silver.

I think it’s great that you set up the 911CUP Cup. Gives you all the opportunity to compete amongst your own class on the east coast tracks. As you mentioned, we west coasters can compete in the West Coast Series in 911CUP, SPB, etc. Good racing, everyone.
