Got a Hans. Been using these so long its like second nature. I plan on replacing it with another one in a year. Quite frankly, havent look at competitors to see if there is something better in a similar design.

However the hybrid is interesting for PCA instructing novices with seat belts. May be a good idea. Just not crazy about all the straps when running in my car with a 6 pt. A Hans is so easy to use.

The regular Hans is a lot simpler than the Hybrid S. I only made the switch so that I could use it in student's cars. I've got used to it when using my 6pt belts, and find it very comfortable now.

i purchased the hybrid s specifically for instructing - i tend to take on a lot of the first-timers at our events.

don't worry about the straps, nothing gets in the way. it is just as easy to strap in with the hybrid s on, and i like the idea of both my hybrid s and my 6pts holding my head in place

Appreciate the feedback. I'll take a look at the hybrid for instructing. Makes sense.

Ok, but he probably shouldn't be on a race track then. If a student is that **** about his car then how does he tolerate the normal wear and tear from the track? And I never noticed any imprinting on my leather seats when I used the Hybrid with my 3-point setup. Nothing shows up in my OMP race seats now. At least I don't notice that sort of thing.

Not trying to argue with you. Sorry if you have had such experiences with students that drove your comment.

For the $$, we really like the Schroth SHR XLT - and it's less expensive than the HANS III. + for Necksgen as well. Feel free to reach out to us with questions!

I also have a old Hans on the shelf collecting dust that I will let go very cheap ($100). It's the original version, not the carbon fiber one. PM if anyone is interested.

No, me neither I just know how particular some can be with high value, collectable level cars. It wouldn’t slow me a bit from using a hybrid in my own car, as I do believe they are the best option, just want people to understand that there “can” be implications.

I have a used Hans I'd sell for $250. If you're interested will send photos and size.

No problem installing a used Hans , as most likely they haven’t been involved in an incident and you can get them recertified.
You certainly don’t want to bounce of the wall a few times coming out of 10 in an overzealous student’s car !
I’ve been using Pyrotect helmets for over 10 years , they are reasonably priced and fit well.Got mine from Irace in Ontario.

Cheers

Ditto on Pyrotect. Better protection than my brain deserves.

Don't you need equal restraints as the student for PCA? Or is it the other way around?

I think student can be less safe than passenger. can't put safety only for driver.
If you have harnesses I think you need neck protection as per pca rules. please confirm. I think I read this.
