997 GT3 Front caliper rebuilds
My front caliper components are fried - some of the yellow pucks are shattered / all the rubbers gone (nice work PO on your preventative maintenance program).
Is there a difference between the various GT 997 calipers (gt3 / rs / cup?)
These ones have ceramic yellow pucks.
Cheapest place to source these parts?
Also is there a genius want to plug the brake lines when you take the calipers off the car to rebuild them?

Nordschleife Master
U can get the correct female flare fitting as an adaptor to npt and just get a npt plug. That way i wont run the risk of damaging the core in the soft lines.

I can't comment on fitment or quality. I've luckily never had to use them. Just telling you that you can't buy the OEM pucks anymore and Demonspeed is the only other option, unless you buy brand new calipers.

I bought them several years ago, at the time this was the only such part I could find. Maybe they are available stateside somewhere now (McMaster, Fastenal, Grainger, etc). Not sure.

I wrote up the rebuild I did (almost a decade ago...) HERE.
If you already bought the cool German clamps, have fun! If not, as shown, since the brake system is not pressurized (as long as your kids do not jump in and press on the pedal...), you can cap the line with any number of flexible "nib" caps. I used ones that they have for covering the sharp ends of the wire shelving sold at home improvement places.
I also have used a finger cut off a nitrile work glove and a rubber band, works fine...

Demonspeed sells all the stuff needed
got them all rebuilt - their pucks are aluminum vs ceramic, but seem fine
Their new seals look to be more high temp resistant, but the pucks are totally stuck in the calipers and will fall out of the seal if you arent careful
Friendly and good service - good choice
