I am confused. Are they installing the contact patch so that we have to drive around where the first rumble was or will the contact patch be further toward the armco and more out of the way?

Thanks Peter. I wonder if organizers will have some say on what is there for an event?
I might have to avoid everything or raise my current 55mm front end!
and and...
New new track walk coming from you and Ross to cover this?
Regards,
Mark

That test actually usurped a track event that was scheduled (that I was signed up for ) so I hope they find what they're looking for.

If someone takes a track walk I'm sure we would all love to see some pictures from different angles. I'm trying to figure out if this is great or the worst.

They said it's the same system they put in for inner-loop at 24hr Daytona this year. Those don't look so bad.
From Nascar's 2024 preview:
The rumble strips currently in place for IMSA’s Rolex 24 at Daytona will also be removed, set to be replaced by concrete pads where variable rumble strips may be put into place for road racing but removed for oval events.
— Using data collected from drivers‘ mouthguards after the 2023 contest at Watkins Glen, the sanctioning body has determined to remove the steep curbing through the bus-stop chicane at the 2.45-mile road course. Curb-hopping triggered notable spikes in forces the drivers underwent each time they raced through the inner loop. Like Daytona, those curbs will be removed and replaced with contact pads. Different temporary strips — whether flat, an inch tall or otherwise — will be tested during a Goodyear tire test at the facility on June 26-27.

Burning Brakes
Wow.. I’ll be there 22 April with Audi NEQ, hopefully I can see something through the rain.
Straight line heavy breaking aiming for the second curb might be wobbly when crossing those new bat ear patches..

Which means the fastest way through will be relatively unchanged.

I look at those like the big stuff behind the regular curbing at T3 at Road Atlanta. Man, I'd be careful. They could do damage, especially on stiffer sprung/lower cars.
