Default Boxster PS fix for Brian P and other Boxster DE and Racers

Ok first, credit goes to John G at Boardwalk Porsche for this long term Boxster fix. The Boxster when used at DE's is prone to melting it's plastic quick connect fittings that attach the PS circuit lines from the PS rack to the PS pump. The solution is to cut the line at the PS rack turn the fitting the opposite direction and run the line up front. Buy a Trans cooler from Summit racing that is approx 13" long and 3 to 4" wide.(will get a PN if needed) Secure the cooler behind the middle radiator sandwiched against it where the air is forced through it. Then take the lines from the PS rack(the one You cut) and run it up to the cooler and back to the other end of the line You cut leaving the rack to complete the circuit. This solves the problem and there have been no additional failures on the Boxsters that have been modded in this fashion. Hope this helps!

If you have the part number for the cooler, that would be great, as there are MANY such coolers at Summit racing.

Ask Rick at Demanmotorsport.com to set You up with what You need. He did Brian's so he probably has the exact one he used on that car and can send it to You or order it for You. It is over a year and a half since we did one. Sorry I dont have the number anymore but You should not have trouble sorting it if You follow the dimensions above.
Hope that is helpful.
