Tracks driven on:
1. Bridgehampton - Fast, unforgiving, took ***** to go fast. RIP
2. Watkins Glen - Same as above but with lower fear factor.
3. Lime Rock - Home track, like comfortable old shoes...
Not driven on:
1. Spa-Francochamps - Last true old world track surviving.
2. Laguna Seca - Most exciting US track on television
3. VIR - Next on my list to drive on.

CMP is a great and under-rated track. If a speed thrill is what you seek, I dunno, the right-hand kink at T10 is a sphincter-clencher if you're trying to take it flat-out.
Also, Wilson designed Mont Tremblant which is, supposedly, a must-drive track for racers and DE-ers.

Road America: the variety, flow, ability to achieve high speeds heading into turns 1 / 5 / 12, the beautiful scenery, the 50-year tradition, the cute local town and resort, etc.

I would have to say, it is a tie between Watkins Glen, and VIR, but Summit is also a pleasure. Barber is pretty spectacular as well. In 2 weeks I will let you know about Road America.

Charlie, Spa is not old world (certainly has enormous history), the Nordschleife is as you suggest (very little alterations). Spa is very different than originally designed, but unbelievably beautifull. Getting really pumped for Germany Aug 5th, we bumped into "Grand Prix" on Turner Classics the other night. It reminded me of how Spa was transformed from a "drive in the country" to a modern F1 circuit. The start finish is exactly the same, (even the grand stand!!), but the rest has been turned into a track (stunning though). Nordschleife is truly a one way toll road with unlimited speed. Nothing like it. Amazing that it was originally 27 miles long and cut in half to add the F1 circuit. We have 8 PCA members going this time and are picking up a 330 in Munich (Euro delivery). Just missed the new coupe by 3 weeks. Hopefully will post some video since we are allowed to film during closed course.

Favorite? Any track I am actively driving, except for Pocono North Course. Every new course becomes a new favorite. Why pick just one? Sentimental favorite that I've actually driven? Tremblant before the recent repaving.. Love to drive a track that meanders through FORESTS... mmm blind corners!

Nobody's mentioned Sebring?!? I've only driven three tracks - Sebring, Moroso, and Barber - and Sebring is my favorite of the three. The longest, most technical, most variances, probably also the fastest in terms of highest achievable speed.
