What is your favorite track and why?

Nürburgring Nordschleife because it is better than Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, Mid Ohio, Mosport, and Road America put together and possibly longer, too! Stupendous elevation changes, very long straights, very fast, scary, high pucker factor, has JUMPS, I can go on and on. Nothing compares.

Infineon/Sears Point - technically challenging, unforgiving and just plainn fun. I think it's more fun than Laguna Seca because it's got more linked turns which makes it more difficult to drive well.

Miller Motorsports Park - because it's 4.5 miles long, brand new, best of everything including air conditioned bathrooms and clubhouse, and it's 50 minutes from my house

so far Grattan but I might change that answer soon.
I love Road America for very different reasons but Grattan I love for the elevation changes and off-camber turns (just not the norm IMHO)

Of the tracks I drive each season, or could drive again with little effort, Mosport and VIR are in a tie right now, followed closely by Watkins Glen. If i expand that to tracks i have driven, Sears Point is right in there, along with Riverside.

Tough question . . . I'm with Bull on Mosport and VIR but I think I would have a four way tie going with Road Atlanta and Tremblant right up there. Watkins Glen is great too . . . can't forget Mid Ohio . . . Summit Point . . . and Shenandoah . . . heck, I even like Pocono (double infield & north course). I don't think I've driven a track that I haven't enjoyed. Least favorite . . . Lime Rock.

On the west coast we have some historic courses that see their share of professional road racing, like Sears Point and Laguna Seca. We also have our Alan Wilson-style club courses, like Thunderhill, Buttonwillow, the Las Vegas Club Course, Reno-Fernley and Spring Mountain. Then there are the Nascar rovals at Las Vegas and Fontana.
But my favorite is Willow Springs, which claims to be the oldest continuously-operating road course in the country (and attempts to prove that by never updating its facilities). It is also faster than probably any road course in North America (in terms of average speed, not top speed), and it only has a single configuration, which really hasn't changed for the past half century.
But even without the history and its old-school street cred, it'd still be my favorite. It offers huge amounts of speed, and huge amounts of nice clean run-off for when things get out of control. And it's 75 minutes from my driveway.
'No frills, just fast.'

I would agree with Willow Springs, which may be olde rthan me, in the "Fast Track" competition. Now, put some barriers around it and it would be more interesting!
