Can anyone compare the benefits/downsides of the Hawk Blue brake pads with the Performance Friction 01 pads? I am currently using the Hawk Blues which work well, but seem to wear awefully fast.

AVOID Hawk Blues at all costs. If their dust gets wet, they WILL destroy your wheels most rickey-tick.

PFC01's wear well, are relatively rotor friendly, and the dust is benign. And they stop better.

I've had a few people suggest the PFC 97 compound for my 997S instead of the 01... Not really sure, but thought I'd mention it.

I use a combination of the PFC 97's up front and the PFC 01's in the rear...works well for me and my 968.

If you use Hawks, the HT-10 is the compound to use. It works over a wider heat range, is more rotor friendly and the dust is just dust (although I never had a problem with Hawk Blue 9012s and their dust). The Blue 9012 heat range is equivalent to PAGID Orange pads, while the HT-10 heat range is equivalent to PAGID Black pads. The HT-10s last much longer than the Blue 9012s.

Hawks Blues are a very old pad, Hawk does produce much better compounds such as the HT10 or HT14's...That said, IMHO, they are no match for PFC 01's or 97's....The PFC's are consistent and stable...The torque is even all along the pedal app and they are not prone to fade. As a side benefit, they are fairly clean and very rotor friendly.

New Hawk DTC-70 and DTC-60 are supposed to be replacing HT-14 and HT-10 pads.
I tried DTC-70 before. Worked well. As well as PFC01.
Another pad I tried and liked was Cobalt Friction SpecVR. They changed their compound names since.
And on a Porsche you can't go wrong with Pagids. RS19 is good for serious track use with R-Comp tires.
