Really?

Hamilton went into the bunker and got a free drop, sounds like Golf to me.

Funny thing is (well, not really) that none of the SPEED commentators mentioned about Hamilton being lifted back.
First thing that came to my mind was "WTF?! That's not legal?!" so surely at least one of them thought about it but since it was "Pretty Boy Hamilton" who everyone so dearly love, they didn't even mention it...

Finn's get a free drop if they get stuck in snow, the rest of us have to make do with sand or gravel.

Hey now! In 1000 Lakes Rally people are pretty helpful for everyone, there's a chance some of the spectators are little drunk and Finns might get helped little quicker, but everyone is turned over & pushed back.
Not so much in some other Rally countries where snow is being put in front of drivers, rocks thrown and so on...

They tip toed around it saying that "Isn't it brilliant how Lewis kept his head about him and the engine running so he could get back out on track". No protests however from anyother team.

That might be one of the sporting regulations looked at sooner than later for clarification on what a track marshall can and cannot do.

I love rain at F1 races. It makes it so unpredictable. Can't wait for Spa!

Default Toro Rosso deny Speed's exit

Tuesday, July 24th 2007, 13:19 GMT

Scuderia Toro Rosso team have denied reports that Scott Speed has been dismissed following the European Grand Prix.

The only American driver in Formula One hit out at Toro Rosso bosses Gerhard Berger and Franz Tost after the Nurburgring race, saying they wanted to get rid of him and teammate Tonio Liuzzi.

"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to read the press and know that (team principal) Franz and (co-owner) Gerhard are pushing like hell to get rid of me and Tonio," Speed told the SpeedTV website.

Both Speed and Liuzzi skidded out of Sunday's race after only a couple of laps.

Berger said on Friday that Toro Rosso had an option on ChampCar champion Sebastien Bourdais for 2008.

On Tuesday, however, a Toro Rosso spokesperson denied reports that Speed had left the team, and said the American was still scheduled to test at Mugello on Wednesday and Thursday.

"There's no truth in that and Scott is also planned to be driving for our test in Mugello tomorrow and the day after tomorrow," she said.

Default Transcript of the Massa/Alonso shoutup

Following Sunday's European GP, Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso were involved in little spat.

The duo clashed in the final laps of the Nurburgring race as Alonso took the victory away from Massa. The result of a dent in Alonso's car and a rather annoyed Spaniard.

Here's the full transcript...

Alonso: You did it intentionally, as in Barcelona.

Massa: No, I did not.

Alonso: You broke my sidepod there - go and have a look at it!

Massa: Go f**k yourself!. You won and you say something like this.

Alonso: Mate, it can't break itself.

Alonso: I have fought with Heidfeld, with everybody, what you did with three laps to go can't be done.

Massa: He wins and says that. You must learn.

Alonso: It is you who has to learn. I have fought with everybody and with three laps to go, we touch!

Massa: Bravo.

Alonso: Bravo you!

Massa: You say that I did it on purpose, like I did that on purpose in Barcelona?. You were remained behind.

(As this point Ron Dennis steps in)

Dennis: Boys calm down.

Massa: Tell him to!

Now we need the transcript to the MS, dennis conversation

It also appears , Lewis was the only one who stayed in his car and kept the engine running , Hence the lift by the crane ....

If that is the case and the lift was legal then he made a very smart move.

I was thinking "I did not know you could do that. and interesting that they pulled Hamilton first" I don't even profess to know 2% of the rules of F1 and figured there was some rule that covered this.

If it indeed was legal, and since there hasn't been any protest over it I'll assume it was, then you can probably bet that ALOT more drivers will stay in their undamaged cars in the future. Particularly if their in the points race.

That was the first time I can ever remember seeing it though...
