Default How To Clean Stain on Aluminum Diamond Plate ?? . . . (See Pics)

My trailer has aluminum diamond plate on the ramps
inside the trailer. The diamond plate ramps are brand
new.

I left 2 bottles of window cleaner on the diamond
plate during a track day and it must have leaked
and left a dark stain. The stain is the exact shape
of the bottom of the Windex bottles.

I tried cleaning it with aluminum polish, chrome
polish, Mothers, Acetone and Xylene. NOTHING
takes the stain out. I can't believe it, I screwed
up my new aluminum diamond plate.

Does anyone having experience cleaning aluminum know how to remove these stains ?

George, it looks like you left a set of fuzzy black-dyed handcuffs laying on the floor?

Have you tried brake cleaner and #0000 steel wool?

No, not yet. I'll try the brake cleaner, but don't really want to put steel wool on it. The surface is high polish.

Is it chrome plated or just polished?

You could try some Wurth (red or blue) metal polish and a microfiber towel (and/or a PC random orbital), that would certainly be safe for either.

I used the regular version of this stuff which eliminated all of the stains on mine:

check out Speedy Aluminum/metal polish. The stuff is amazing, we use it on commercial boats. You can use it in conjunction with 0000 steel wool as stated, they also make a metal compound. Ive used just about every metal polish there is, this stuff makes aluminum shine like chrome, I think you will be amazed..

Buy a high-speed buffer with a foam head and a wool head, use the wool head with the 3M rubbing compound, it will remove it. Switch to the foam head and start using finer compounds until you get to the polish. Will take at least 2 hours. Cost $700.00. You'll still be able to see the area has been worked unless you work really hard to feather a wide area around the repair. Oh, and it will make a huge mess of your trailer. Personally, I'd use a green scrubby or steelwool and brakeclean. Of course you can always replace it.

Or

Forgetaboutit...it's a racetrailer.

If it stays shinny and is exposed to the elements, odds are it has a coating and or anodized. Otherwise it would corrode quickly.

I find Blue magic works wonders. It has a mild abrasive in it already so no steel wool is necessary just elbow grease. You can find it at Auto Zone or most stores.

correct order it, nothing else works like this stuff. dont be afraid of the 0000 steel wool, try it with just a rag first. as stated they also make a metal compound, but doubt you will need it. have used them all, mother, flitz, 3m, compound etc etc, speedy is the deal.. no affiliation btw...
