Sooner or later, every commercially-managed forum suffers a self-inflicted wound. Sometimes, those wounds are fatal. IB has "pissed in the pool" on more that a few of their "managed boards" that I have inhabited "pre" and "post" IB. They probably will continue to do this. It's their board, they can do what they want. As best I can see it, they're reducing the value of their own investment and, while that may not be a business model that we're all keen to follow, maybe it works for them. Or not.

The only thing to do is make sure you leave some kind of forwarding address, so the posters you're actually interested in communicating with can find you and direct you / be directed by you toward the next place to congregate.

Nanny-ism is a growing irritant in our lives, both real and iNtArWebZ. Learn to "vote with your feet" when it gets really annoying.

I didn't see anything in that thread that would warrant moving it to mod delete except maybe the link to 38d's new hangout..why not delete/edit that one post instead of black flagging the entire thread...wow...I have been away for awhile and the changes around here are astounding....I need to regroup before I annoy someone.

I was wondering what just happened. I was reading that thread and all of a sudden Poof. I log on every day to check in and read what is up in our community, and its almost like a shark feeding frenzy, First, VR then the Colin's 38D's which have been around for ever. and now the apparent censorship. Wow.

The very reason I left 6speed a LONG time ago. Posts were getting deleted. Threads would disappear. And when you would ask what happened, crickets would chirp.

This place is becoming a joke.

This worst part is there was no reason to come to this.

This whole thing really bugs. I was trying to defend VR, and mentioned 38D on one thread. Then they ban him, and he has had that Avatar for as long as I have been coming on this list. So, now I feel guilty.

Sorry 38D, if I had anything to do with this mess.

Guys, FWIW, it appears that the thread was NOT deleted by a mod. Those deletions are visible to mods and there are no tracks. It is possible that Colin deleted his thread himself. While there was some venting, there was nothing in the thread which merited killing it unless I missed some dandy posts while at dinner.

The only thread deleted is a spam add for voguejordan shoes which I deleted myself.
