Please, It's more than 100 lbs and when asked that after the race by another racer I opened the hood to show him for proof. I actually think he would be slower without the weight, the weight up front really helps plant the car. When we do decide to run GTS4 or 5 someday and remove the weight I will need to resetup the car. Besides, we were right next to tech and scales, it would have been very hard for me to the yank the weight without anyone seeing. Hell, I didn't even yank the weight out of my Spec Miata car and they were allowing us to do it for that fun race !

I wasn't surprised it ran sub 50 this weekend. - I did make some changes to the car for this weekend but nothing to the weight or power, and Jay has been driving very well and very smart.
Also the data has become more of a religion now which helps us learn exactly what is working on any given day and apply as needed.

so, was the 49 run with the weight taken out?

I didn't mean for my comment to sound as if I was suggesting Jay was under weight. I just heard he pulled 100 lbs out to go mess with Mills. Not saying that Jay would purposely be under weight.

Yes the weight was in. We briefly discussed taking weight out and running the last race as a GTS4 car to play with Mills but Michael had made some changes and was hooked up very well and I am sure pulling the weight would have a negative affect on the car that wouldn't allow him to run as fast even though he would have been lighter. Michael was also surprised we were so fast and suggested our car was a little higher in the front end and when I realized what he was suggesting I opened the hood so he could personally eyeball the bricks. I left the hood open for awhile so anyone else that thought that could clearly see.

Very impressive lap times, especially on DOT rubber.
How much difference do you think there is in your car CW vs. CCW?

We are thinking there will be some more competition at the NASA Natioanls, I know if some of the guys are coming from the Mid Ohio area, or atleast the guys that have run the NASA Nationals the last few years there, then it should be a VERY exciting race !

Oh, and thank you for the congrats.

I think lap times are pretty close either direction. When it gets colder we usually drop a second so thats what makes our 49 so amazing. It was 99 deg outside.

Put the ballast back in and try again.

There have been multiple changes to the car since it was last at TWS, some quite significant, some minor, but definite improvements. The car was also on stickers to run the 49. I have no doubt we can do it again, and actually will be targeting sub 49 now.

Hey Dave,
When are you going to have that BMW you wrecked at MSRH back out on the track ?

It didn't really look hurt that bad, I think I could have made the next days races with it.

If a guy beats me, he's cheating. If I beat him, it's skill (and he's probably still cheating).

Seriously though, great run and a fun weekend. You got to quit scaring off the GTS3 competition though.

Hmmm, ok, the BMW he got hit in, is that better ?
It still looked like it could have been racing the next day, not pretty, but racing.
But that was 6 months ago, I expected to see him back out there by now.

Yeah, I hate it but it really is like that with winning and cheating.

I keep sending Jay out on old tires thinking it will slow him down but all we had left on Sunday late was stickers, opps.
