Default Featherlight open aluminum trailer.

Any idea what the market value is on a 1 year old with tongue box and spare?

A couple of 06's sold out here recently for $4.8 so I'd say $5k.....

Can you tell me how much it weighs? I may be purchasing a car with 3500lbs towing capability. I am hoping the trailer weighs 1000lbs and the car about 2500lbs. Am I nuts?

See towing threads. Yes to nuts. Towing threads can go for 20 pages.

BTW aluminum trailer seem to hold their value.

Featherlite 3110 weigh about 1300-1400 pounds.
Trailex open aluminum trailers are about 900 pounds.

You may want to look at R&R trailers. http://www.rnrtrailers.com/inside.htm

I think they are cheaper the Featherlite and better. They have brakes on all axels because MI law requires them. Featherlite only has them on 1 axle.

The aluminum trailers definitely hold their value. I have looked at a few of them and some people are asking the new price.

My 18' Aluma 8218 is about 1000 lbs but was a heck of a great deal cheaper than a Trailex (electric brakes on both axles, etc).

Featherlight makes the heaviest of all aluminum trailers. They have a 3x3 steel angle running down each side under the apron for added strength.

Just paid ~7k to order a similar featherlite last week. Only a couple of used ones while I shopped, and they were not far off the price I paid.

Looks like these things hold their value pretty well.

They are very nice trailers - I forgot about them before. Cheaper than Featherlite too.

Read the small print, it usually includes the weight of occupants and the stuff you have in the cargo area. So you can roughly deduct 1000lbs for occupants and luggage and it leaves you with 2500Lbs of towing capacity. I assume you have a midsize V6 SUV like I have.

I'm in the market too.
Whats the shortest (single) length you guys would recommend- a 996 is like 14.5' and a 964 a little shorter. Is 16' just too short?
My pick-up has a towing capacity of 6500 lbs and room for tires but I still might have a tirerack installed on the trailer.
