Thanks. Maybe I am not looking at it right, but that one has a minumum height of 3.5". My car is pretty low, with a 3" minimum height I need to remove rubber to make it work, so I think I need a minimum height of only 2.5".

I think I've finally decided to order this one: http://www.asedeals.com/zinko_alumin...ing_jacks.html While it's a 10-pump version, it has the clearance and the lower weight I'm looking for and is $500 less than the 3-pump holy grail from Brunnhoelzl.

My impression is 20-30 lbs. But it's also the $3k for the airjacks, the cost to have them installed and the large nitrogen supply versus a $500 jack.

I ordered the jack today.

well... it would make sense if you change your tires in the enduro but those goodyears last the whole race

I thought I had you to muscle the jack over the pit wall in the enduro (if there was a need). I'm getting one that's only about 40 lbs instead of the 70 lb thing I have now. I'm looking out for you guys. You've got about 8 weeks to work out lifting weights so you're ready. I think we will do refueling with a real refueling rig instead of dump cans this year - that will eliminate the possible 5 minute fuel penalty and I'm making sure the seat bolts have loctite to eliminate the 15 minute pit stop to fix that. We'll be more serious competition this year.

We will borrow the Jerry Woods rig. Since Rich is driving with me...

Well, no way we could have won last year. That DP car was passing me like I passed the Miatas. It was the only car to ever pass us, so 2nd was possible without the two mishaps.

Looking forward to racing with you this weekend. You ready for some fun?

You might be able to make a small L shaped pre lift jack. It works like a F1 jack but only lifts a few inches or so. Slide it under the side of the car and line up with the rail and push the handle to the ground. Now you have plenty of clearance and can use any light 3 pump jack with the pad in place too. Yes this adds a step but it lifts the entire side of the car while you are still pumping away at the 11 stroke shop floor jack. You should find that you can drop the car and pull the jack without the L jack in place as the susp takes a second or 3 to settle. Lighter cars should be able to be lifted with the L jack alone. I am making one for next years track rat. been tinkering with one that slides under the susp at the tire. lifts the tire off without uncompressing the susp. 2 inches and the tire is off the ground. Using a cam it lifts full stroke in a 170 deg turn of the positioning handle.

Jerry, I thought the deal was that for a fee, you would ensure whoever was chasing me would be impeded a tad, nothing dramatic, just enough for some breathing room. Or maybe you could slow PJ so I could catch up to him? I'll look for you there. And, hey, only 85 this weekend instead of 105!

Allright, back on topic

Quote:
2.25" clearance (saddle removed) on this jack:

I had bought that one, but the thing is huge, much bigger and heavier than I thought looking at the picture online.
Way too big and heavy to drag in and out of the trailer to and from the track, so I returned it.

Still did not find a good jack that is less than 3" with rubber stradle and is less than $300.00

lol, I have a friend who bought one of those "Nascar jacks" on a recommendation. It will NOT lift his Mustang and barely lifts another friend's Miata.
