I totally agree. I was reading this thread thinking am I the only one that thinks a unshaved R888 is really not bad at all. Yes they are a little squirmy but nowhere near like the RA1. After 3 track days at Sebing my R888's are awesome.

They do spin like crazy on my rims. They are at the shop getting the rim scuffed a little and some type of rubber stuff applied so they do not spin anymore.

Not sure if this is of use to anyone but if it helps, seems like the folks with the "heavier" cars benefit from shaving while some of us with lighter cars find stock R888's to be the cat's pajamas.

By heavy I mean closer to 3k than 2.

Maybe it is a weight thing but I hated HATED the 888's new and unshaven. Not only that Toyo changed their recommendations for pressure and camber from high 30's low 40's hot to 34-3 hot and camber from neg 2.5 to neg 1.5; Maybe that made a difference. I've gone back to the Pirelli Corsa (not the N rated System tire) which I much prefer.

What is the price difference between the R888 and Pirelli? I am not sure what tires you are actually useing because the Corsa's I price out are extremely expensive.

If you hve a link and or picture that would help me. I use 245-40-18 and 305-35-18 so that I have the same diameter as my stock 235-35-19 and 305-30-19.

thanks!
