Default Sebring PCA Club Race

I just reg. for the club race and found out there is only one sprint race. What's up with that???, you would thing with the size of the venue and the number of entrants the region would follow suit with all the other club races that have had great participation and acceptance and begin the season with multiple sprint races!!! What is everyones thought's and comments??

Thursday night practice.
Friday fun races.
Friday night sprint race.
Saturday sprint.
Sunday Enduro.

That seems like a pretty decent schedule--Two Sprint races and an Enduro.

I like multiple sprint races at some events, but I don't think they are a requirement.
Some of the schedules with multiple sprints are too compressed.

After a season of doing multiple sprint events, I always like the traditional schedule of the Road America race.
I like how the weekend builds up for the one sprint.
If you are in a competitive class you really need to nail qualifying,
and you only get one shot at the podium.

Really, I agree that some of the smaller venues work better with a single sprint but this is Sebring!!! A lot of people, including myself and a bunch of friends that I pushed this race on, travel a VERY long way to attend and still only one sprint. I dont think its fair to count the night race since I dont believe everyone should be allowed to run it due to safety reasons, but that another story. Fact is there are other large Club Races that have "seen the light" and figured out that it's easy enough to do and the VAST majority of racers appreciate the extra competitive racing. I really think that the powers at be in the Sebring race should also step up and add the second sprint. There is NO schedule posted yet and there is no problem with the folks from the PCA Club Racing staff.

Come on guys how bout it!!!!

1 sprint race is a long way to travel for a Sebring first timer like myself....

Hence, I have cancelled my registration......

I hope everyone participating has a great time.....

Paolo,
If they added a second sprint would you be back in? It really is a great venue and worth the trip, for two sprints!!!

Two sprint races for sure.
There is plenty of track time, so eliminate one practice session and add another sprint!
It is a long way to travel from Denver...

Wish it would be two daytime sprints at least. Has anyone seen a schedule of events, wondering what time the Sunday Enduro will be over to schedule a flight home.

+1. Too far to travel for 1 day light sprint. I dont know the track well enough to feel comfortable racing at night.

I am all for getting rid of Enduro Qualiyfing and adding another sprint. Whatever- run whatcha brung--1 sprint ----3 sprints. I just like racing in Feb!!!
I find Enduro qualifying redundant but I know some people like it. I like the races where the Enduro grid is set by the fastest lap in the sprint.
If you don't go to Sebring because there is only "one sprint" That's weak.
I think you are loosing the forest through the trees.

I do 6 or 7 races a year. This year I might do 8, so maybe I am just more flexible when it comes to the schedule.
You "East Coast Guys" are a pain in ***--sooo demanding.

I was signed up until I read this, and it was in GTC3 with my 997 Cup. Canceled and sold the cup because it's either two sprints in the daytime (must be between 10:00 and 1:00) or nothing.. we New Englander's have our standards!!

If the event didn't have the night race on firday night, then I would like to see 2 sprints on saturday, with less practice sessions. However, with the chance for a night race, the total races are 3 for the weekend, which makes the trip worth it to me. Realizing that if you don't qualify to participate in the night race, then you are out a race. Been there last year, and it sucked watching "everyone else" race in the night race. But after struggling around the track on friday day for the first time, I understand why the night race is for the experienced only.
But the 3 day race format on fri night , sat, and sun makes for a rather enjoyable , and slower paced weekend. One where you don't feel like you've got to be in every practice session. I can't wait!Granted, I don't have too far to travel!
