Default Next gen Indy car (wingless)

I'll be surprised if this hasn't been posted here already, but I don't remember seeing it.

Anyways, the photos below are rumored to be a hint of the next Indy car. This model was built by Acura/Honda.

Anyone here know any more about this?

Adding to the wingless rumor was a reference to it in this recent Speed TV article.

I like the front and rear bent control arms.

Cool front and back but the body looks pregnant.

I am not sure if the American race fan will buy into this radical of a redesign.

The Delta wing concept recently announced is a three wheeler.

That is sweet.

Looks like they took a compilation of fighter jets and put wheels on it.

Will they be riding on dubs???

Yeah, the mirrors are positioned below all that bulge. Completely useless as designed, but easily fixed.

I don't know, looks like from where the drivers head is positioned he could see the mirrors.

Hard to say... I was looking at the rear photo. You can't see the mirrors at all and that's a close to level shot, it's still a little high, but that should allow you to see the mirrors.

Pretty cool, I wonder if the aero comes anywhere near working in the current shape.

Maybe they are using cameras?

i'm pretty sure they made the side pods so huge to accommodate one big "Target" logo on them.

looks kind of like a lawn dart

I like the design. It's a cross between a jet fighter and the high end Lambo (Revtage or something like that)

Those are some HUGE tunnels underneath the car.

And they even went to the trouble of putting the driver's name on the model (2nd picture)...
