I run the opposite when Dan J lets me choose what i run.

Blacks upfront for tons of bite (very on/off type of pad). 97s in the rear because they are more progressive.

Mike,

How is the 01/97 combo working? [in terms of bias and longevity etc].

I ran the Pagids in the rear and 97s up front to try and get more bite in the rear given the severe front bias of our cars. Didn't like them and went back to 97's all around.

Funny, because Dan specifically put Pagid Blacks in the rear of my car when I had lockup problems (it was a caliper issue) at the 08 Glen race and it cured the problem as the 97's were gripping a lot more than the Blacks on initial braking. I bought a couple sets and even though I put new calipers in keep running them.. no issues either way but i'm slow.

Are the Pagid blacks more or less grippy than the PFG 97?

Gary, I watched you run at the Glen and I wouldn't call you slow.

My observation is that the Blacks are more on/off than the 97s.

It's because it doesn't take as much to stop those Hot Wheel sire tires from spinning.

So........ if all the lockup is in the front, where would you place the pagid blacks?

(I do have 930 brakes, not sure if it makes difference).....
