Up to 93 cars as of this morning. I hope they split the racers into three groups! 45+ cars on a 1.8 mile track may invite carnage. Of course I have the answer for dividing into three:
Group 1: All GT class (except GT5S) [23] + F,G,H,I [8] = 31 cars
Group 2: D [7] + E [25] = 32 cars
Group 3: SP1,SP2 [9] + SPBox [20] + GT5S [1] = 30 cars

I'm looking forward to a great weekend of racing!

Earl Schott (BIG THANKS to Earl and the entire Cimarron Region for this event!) was kind enough to send me a preliminary schedule. FIVE test and test sessions on Friday (10:15, 11:30, 2:00, 3:15 and 4:30). All sessions are 20 minutes.

Looks like National will divide up the cars into two groups again so this could get REALLY interesting.

Saturday
Race Group 1 practices at 8:25 and 10:05. Race Group 2 practices at 9:15 and 10:05. Group 1 Fun Race is 1:25. Group 2 Fun Race is 2:20. Driver's Meeting is 12:35. Group 1 Qualifying is 3:15 and Group 2 Qualifying is 3:50. Group 1 Sprint 1 is 4:30 and Group 2 Sprint 1 is 5:05.

Sunday
Driver's meeting is 7:55. Group 1 Warm-up is 8:25 and Group 2 Warmup is 9:15. Group 1 Sprint 2 is 10:55 and Group 2 Sprint 2 is 11:55. Group 1 Sprint 3 is 1:25 and Group 2 Sprint 3 is 2:35. Awards and Closing Ceremony is 3:15.

Get ready gents! We're going racing and the weather looks good so far. Woo Hoo!

Thanks Toby for the preview. Two groups of 45 + cars in 1.8 miles! Sounds like fun. Combine the DE groups and add the 3rd Race group. I am with bpf1970.

What is that smell... Oh, it is brakes and tires burning!
Can't wait...

the spec boxster as one race group will be fun to watch, ok one 914 mixed in. Glad they chose 3 groups, should make for much better racing.

The region must be mashing the DE groups into one group so they can handle three race groups. Pairings look good. Should be a fun weekend.

BTW, we may screen some racing movies outside on Thursday or Friday night. I'm bringing a video projector that attaches to my PC. Should be interesting.

I think dividing us up into the 3 run groups was brilliant and I’m sure it’s causing havoc to the schedule but it will be much safer and more fun for all involved. The only decision that puzzles me is placing the sole F car in front of 20 something Es and the Ds. The winner of E class quite frankly deserves to win the group. Scott is a fantastic driver and would mix it up with G through I and at least a half dozen GT cars. They did the same thing at high plains with one F car – is there something I’m missing? As a rule of thumb I wouldn’t place a 1 car class in the front of a run group. OK, I have just a little bit of jealousy with the cut line of that group, BUT I’ve spent lots (probably more than I should have) of laps with “OH CRAP” filling my rear view mirror and that certainly adds a bit of pressure, I’m not as jealous as you’d think. Just my 2 cents.

Medical issue resurfaced and has forced me to cancel.

Everyone (especially my close "E" friends) have a blast and be safe! I'll expect real time updates.

Make me proud Jimmy!

Watkins and Gladwell had a war all weekend, some of the best racing seen. Steve won twice. Buckley was on game as usuall, I thnk he had 3 wins. Heard something about "H" having a new class record, someone named Paul Norwood . Rich Andrews get's the "Ironman" award for sticking to it (you'll hear more later). I scratched out a 2nd in class Saturday evening and it all when backwards from there. Bryan Bell had his game on Sunday in sprint 3 for a class win. I know why they call it the "bitch", I killed myself there...

Just a few of my observations, I have overlooked so much... others can add...
