If she likes the E-class, its a great car for commuting and comes close to other new cheaper cars with similar warranty.

The last few years we owned S430, E320CDI, R350, R320CDI, CL65.
I try to buy them 3 + years old with factory warranty and low enough miles to get us to the 7 year 100K miles MB certified warranty, basically 3+ years and at least 50K miles from MBUSA.com.
The CPO is only 5 years, so I buy the extra CPO extended warranty for 2 years.

I have fixed tons of stuff on the cars, not much if anything was not covered.

I pick one in the color she likes and ship it to local dealer or fly and pick it up.
This ^ is how to rotate through late model cars and not get completly shot in the wallet. As to the repairs, 03 to 07 were not the best years for MB. From what the mechanics are saying the cars are far better now.

LMFAO! But Hennessey? I might as well just give all my money to the rampant socialists in Washington.

But at least they occasionally give me a courtesy reacharound. Hennessey will just use my money & parts to build other vehicles. Oh wait....our government is also a ponzi scheme.....

Never mind.

"the rampant socialists in Washington"...this comment has just set me off...forgive my anger. I just can help myself.

What I see is that in Congress, the Courts, the govment in general, regardless of the self applied, or applied label, be it Socialist, Liberal, Democrat, Republican, Right Winger...they ALL take that tasty paycheck and avail themselves of a health care program that few of us can imagine. Nice retirement benefits too.

Damn, why didn't I go into politics instead of working for a living?

I saw your first post giving props to Infiniti for have "interesting options" I haven't read the rest of the posts so I'm not sure what the wifey wants or what elese you've ruled out.

I'm pretty happy with my G37S. It's a touch on the small side but with 330hp, 6sp box, RWD, 14" brakes, ltd slip, staggered wheels, tighter steering ratio, tight suspension, sport seats, etc it's a pretty sweet car especially considering it's 99% the driving experience of a 3-series, you get Japanese quality and out the door it was $31K.

If I had the money I would have bought a 550i Sport.

Here is my wife's car. It's her vision of what an SUV should be.
Plenty of room for groceries and soccer ***** too!
