"Due to request from many of our racers, We are considering adding a points series that will lead to a National Championship in all classes. We won’t be changing classes to work in the series. Any future class changes will occur for normal reasons through normal channels. Participation in the points system will not be mandatory and will be at each drivers discretion. We will structure the system to work as fairly as possible for racers in all parts of the country. The specific details are yet to be worked out. However, the 13-13 rule as it stands today will not be modified. In fact it most likely will work out that a significant points penalty would accompany a 13-13. Our goal is to have a Championship Series without changing the basic atmosphere, camaraderie and fun that PCA exhibits today. Those who do not want to run for points can enjoy the same great racing we have always had.

We need input to determine whether a points based National Championship is desirable addition to our program. We need a response that says good idea, bad idea or don't care. Please email your comments to crrules@pca.org as soon as possible. Please include your car class in your reply. We will have the comment period open for only two weeks (closing on March 3rd). We have a lot of work to do to get this rolling.

Yeah! Me too! Just add the PCA CLub Racing logo to the Rennpoints site and it will be official!

Only caveat could be to do East / West championships/conferences? We dont get to race each other at all, and maybe more East Coasters win the classes by default just because there are more events? Central States get to pick which Conference they belong too

The rest in West.

It is only an opinion. I may be wrong. But it seems nearly equally divided.

How about a regional championship instaed of east/west, something I think like SCCA. There could be a southeat region, northeast, midwest, west coast, etc. This would allow racers with limited budgets and opportunities to still participate, say 4-5 events in each region which would reward those who attend all events but also allow racers who cannot attand all regional events to still be in the running if they perform exceptionally well at the events they attend.

I agree with Rich. And you can still collect points for "out of region" races.
