Default Trackmate data

Mentioned this in another thread and some thought it would be a good idea. Post up some of your data and lets see what happens. A quick description of the car would be nice.

Below is data from Road Atlanta from Feb of 2011 at the PBOC event. Car is a 944S with 968 engine (220 rwhp and 2700 lbs). Have at it

Turn 5 approach looks quite lazy - are you running out of revs there?

Decel for 10A is not consistent - looks like you need to go deeper.

Turn 1, your decel is also low - could probably get in there a bit harder without hosing your corner speed. Accel coming out seems like it might be a bit weak... wondering if gear selection is an issue, or maybe you're pinching your exit and not using all the track?

Any of this make sense?

No, you are spot on Vaughn.

I just got the traqmate at that RA event and started playing with it.

I don't know why I overslow into T1, need to just do it. I downshift to 4th during braking and then stay in 4th up the hill, going to 3rd just before T3. My foot is to the floor before apex and use most of the track, but there just does not seem to be the power to accel up the hill. I've tried using 3rd, but run out of gear before trackout.

T5 - crashed there a few years ago and it still has my number I do not run out of gear as I go to 4th at the top of the esses. I have a bad tendency to coast at the bottom. The car also feels quite unstable under braking for 5, but that might just be the bad mojo.

T10 - This was my first event at RA with turbo S brakes on the car and I can go much deeper than last year. Just have to convince myself of that.

I enter T6 too slow as well, need to find some speed there.

Shift/PrintScreen is one method. Paste it in word as an image.

I personally think it would be sa good idea to have a data logger library. It would be a great learning tool. And I believe it would be helpful when you go to a track for the first time.

I've always done. Print Screen open MS Paint 'paste' the image and then save to .jpg/.bmp

If you save as web page (html) in word, it will convert all images to .jpg for you. You can then edit that or try to attach it here - assuming it isn't too big. *note, don't save as single web page, but just web page. If that doesn't make sense now, when you click "save as web page" in word, a dialog box will pop up and you can change the setting in the window.

You could always download paint.net - which is a little more robust than MS Paint. Paint.net will allow you to resize images to fit here. Google's Picasa will also let you resize images.

Ok, here is mine.

996 TT 3400 lbs (520 whp)
Kumho V710 (13th HC)
Getty Wing

Trying to make sense of the accel/braking g's vs distance. Do the flat top sections mean I'm coasting?

Any chance you can make that image bigger? It's kinda hard to see the necessary detail.

What I can see from here is a flat spot (yes, looks like coasting) approaching 3 (compare to Tim's, above)...

If I could see more resolution, I might be able to say more...

And what kind of diet was you TT on? My GT3 weights 3400 lbs with me in it....

If you host the image rather than link it, it will show up in native resolution.

Compare your braking to what I do in T1 and T10. I get on the brake too early, get slowed down but then realize that I can't yet get on the gas and go and therefore modulate the brake till turn in. Looks like you are doing that in a number of turns.

I fixed the picture, sorry if it's too big.

As for the weight, that weight was full tank with my 225 lb behind in the car, so it's getting pretty light. It's been on a serious diet, radio delete, light weight battery, straight pipes, bought used carpet then shaved the sound deadening off and installed, back shelf gutted. Still has AC, sunroof etc. to come out too, and got some gutted doors coming. Shooting for under 3200 lbs with me in it.

Honestly my braking in T1 and T10 are almost foot to floor, there is hardly any modulation. At T1 I am braking at the 100 ft sign going almost 140 into it, I can barely make the turn and miss it occasionally if my brakes are a little soft. In fact, I think on this lap I kind of overshot it and had to coast a little bit to make the apex. Similar with T10, I'm braking at about 250 ft going 160.

I think I'm having some brake issues after installing 2 piece rotors a month ago, I broke a hard line on accident and it sat and dripped for a couple of days, I think there is air in the system we haven't gotten to with a couple of regular bleeds, think I need to have it bled with a PIWIS. Also not too high on Pagid Yellows bite, switching to blacks.
