Default Was anybody at Sebring with Chin 3/26-27

ive made this event the past 2yrs but wasn't able to make it this year. I heard there was a bad 3RS crash and was trying to find out if the 2 people in the car were ok. Not asking for video, just trying out what caused the accident if anyone was there

Missed this crash but there were some BMW's looking really bad on Saturday. There was something going on that held us up for over 30 minutes at the beginning of Saturday.

Glad everyone was OK. Track seemed slipperier than usual but my R888's were totally wore out too.

heard about it through someone else. apparently brakes were completely shot going into 17 and it was buried in the wall. from the pic I saw, looked like antoine's car. No confirmation on that though. heard driver was fine as well. Really ****ty to hear about that.

Default Passenger ok

I talked with the passenger, who was the GT3 driver's student and he had some burns from the airbags, but otherwise ok. I did see a picture of the car, but I deleted it from my memory.

what I heard was it went metal to metal. Must have gone through brake pads faster than expected.

If true, I would be very disappointed that an instructor, with such a high end car, would not be more on top of his/her pad wear.

The car was banged up all over like a gold ball, but not crunched up at all.
Looked like a lot of body work to me unless rof caved in too much.

Plenty of rumors, I hear new pads went in before the session. I've seen the driver drive before, he knos what he is doing..If pads went in I wanna know what happened.

Teamspeed.net is down , but there is a link on it about incident.

Man I am glad everyone is alright. This past weekend I was at Summit, and kept pushing and pushing as best as I could without being silly. Although I had plenty of pads on the car, still do, I felt the brakes were getting a little softer than I like, so I shortened my sessions and eventually just called it off after 10 total sessions. Not that it may be related here, since the driver had changed pads before the session, I just feel lucky and I am glad I called it off a little earlier than usual.

I went over to Teamspeed and I'm amazed at the classless comments ... First and last time that I go there.

What pads did you run?
My pads Pagid R29 start feeling crappy after 6 track days or about 20 sessions at Sebring, but they stop the car. I replace them at that point and they have 50% material left. I plan on trying different pads that last longer next time. I only heard a rumor that the car had new pads, but not confirmed!

Wonder if the RS suffered from the dreaded ABS ice issue on the bumps in 17?

Pure speculation but if they were new pads were they bedded in properly. I have seen really abnormal wear on certain brands of pads if not bedded in properly.
