47 Year old former F1 star Jean Alesi to race in Indy 500 in 2012
Alesi to race in Indianapolis 500
23 September 2011Ex Formula 1 driver Jean Alesi has confirmed that he will be taking part in next year’s Indianapolis 500. The 47-year-old French-Sicilian – an ambassador of sports car manufacturer Group Lotus – will be entering with the Norfolk-based company.
“I'm thrilled that Lotus has given me the opportunity to compete in such a world-famous race,” says Alesi, with Group Lotus currently title sponsor of the Renault F1 team. “It's going to be a very special experience for me but I also know that I have a lot of hard work ahead.
“I'm very focused on the task I'm facing – I'm taking my training very seriously, I have some amazing support on this front from a 'comeback' expert and of course I will be testing extensively. I'm really excited about the race.”

More power to him, but I think he's crazy!! He should ask Ralph about those walls...
(Wheldon was about 40 minutes away last Tuesday shaking down the new car- wish I'd known it before but obviously they were pretty quiet about it. Would like to hear the new turbo. Could have watched from the hillside.)
