Not as durable.

For "cheap" cameras, Replay and VIO-sport are the best built, Contour-next and quite a bit less durable, GoPro-next, the rest are cheap toys.

BTW, I don't sell any of these so no skin in the game. But I see a lot of variety at the track.

What good is it if it's half price and lasts half (or less) as long? YMMV.

+1. Called the "rolling shutter" effect. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rolling_shutter

Quite common in the less expensive cameras, which all use cheap CMOS sensors and especially obvious in the harsh NVH of a race car environment.

Think that's it. That's a REALLY nice feature and a must when setting up and using multiple cams.

Only the Contour GPS ($299 + $29 ConnectView card) and the + ($499, ConnectView card included) offer iOS/Android support.

The GoPro HD Hero 2 WiFi Backpac is set to be released 3/2012 (no guarantees) and will be available for $99.95. Streaming video to an iOS device will only be available to those with a HD Hero 2, not the original HD.
