Default UK Tour for Track Rats

I'll be in London for a couple days before heading to Italy and wonder if there's anything unique I need to do while there. I'll have my 10 year old son with me in tow. I was thinking of seeing if I can get in on an Ariel Atom Experience or see if there's an automotive racing museum.

Thanks.

If you or your son have any interest in Military History, look into going to the Imperial War Museum - I've never seen anything like it in any other country. It's got everything from Knights and Armour to the modern times - and what ever era you choose, you won't see it all.

It's a car show just walking around the Knightsbridge area. London may be the best car city in the world!

The Imperial War Museum is a great idea alternatively, get up early and fly to Munich (the most discriminating car city in the world(CGT doesn't turn heads))and visit the Deutsches Museum(eat your heart out Smithsonian), the Aviation Wing, BMW and Audi museums, and the beer is better.

+1 on the RAF museum, for motorsports if you have the time, a trip up to silverstone, or down to Mclaren Tech center....

Would love to head down to Germany on this trip but its London for 3 days then Italy for the remaining 8 days.

I am finding out about "driving experiences" as they rent cars out to normal folks for the day - such as a Jaguar e Type or Jensen Interceptor..hmmm. Caterham has events but the only thing they have when I'm in town is a drift experience in a Cat 7 but it is the morning we fly in so can't make it. There are some other events it seems at Hullavington airfield and oulton park but those are pretty far away.

Found out about Palmersport.com who has a full day event that Saturday where I can drive a Range Rover Defender on an offroad course; M3 GTP; Ariel Atom; Jaguar JP-LM; Caterham 7; then a Formula Jaguar. It is at the Bedford Autodome which is not too far from London (~ 60 miles). Hmmmm...
