I watched the Nationwide Series race in the rain a few years back. They installed a wiper and swapped tires and ran for awhile until the rain caused SERIOUS puddles. It was fun to watch. Wish the Spint Cup Series would do it as well, but I believe it is a tire issue.

Yeah...Goodyear is one of the biggest tire companies in the world. I am pretty sure they could make a proper rain tire for NASCAR....if they were asked.

Got nothing to do with tires. I hear its a vinyl adhesion issue with sponsor decals, and the inability to rattle off every sponsor name on the side of your car/racing suit during a 30 second track side interview. Apparently, the distraction of water droplets falling from the sky and bouncing off cameras in close proximity interferes with the driver's script/sales pitch, and causes decals to come off at speed....which, of course, is a "safety" issue at high speed tracks.

Anyone here ever driven on an oval in the wet, let alone rain? Phoenix for me. Absolutely miserable. Don't even know how the sports cars do it in the 24 hours, getting around the banking.
