PCA club race blocking?
Could someone explain what is considered blocking in PCA Club Racing? This past weekend the 12 car in front of me was black flagged for blocking, I just don't see it.

I'm not familiar with Lime Rock personally. But it looked like #12 was staying inside into the braking zone at the end of the long straightaway. And even though it looked like you were able to out brake him almost every time, you had nowhere to go. If #12 had stayed online into the braking zone, you probably could have slipped by. Instead both of you were going through the turn too slowly, which I'm guessing contributed to the pack ahead of you pulling away. If you were both in the same class, I guess an argument could be made that #12 was driving defensively. But if you were in different classes, the offline defense was rather pointless. Unless the proper entry line for that RH'er is to be on the inside.

yep, overly defensive inside line several times into T1 is what I saw. I'm assuming club racing is more strict about this than pro racing (?)
was this for position in class?

If he was in a different class than you, then he was probably black flagged for being an idiot. Makes no sense to drive defensively like that in front of an out-of-class car. But if you're in the same class, I don't see any illegal moves, but I didn't watch that closely.

Making you pass him on the outs side is not blocking. If he moved to the inside and then back out , that would be blocking. If he was not in your class and you seem to be faster it would have been a benefit for him to let you by and see where he can improve and pick up your draft.

Well, in today's context that is not blocking, technically, but come on; the guy is going down the front straight totally on the right side. Very bogus if you ask me, and I'm glad they flagged him on it. You guys know how I feel about blocking, don't even get me started....

If blocking is "more than one move," I didn't see that.
If blocking is driving diagonally from track out at Diving Turn to entry of Big Bend, yeah. I saw that.
If blocking is driving differently when someone is behind than when on your own, I saw that.
If blocking is driving badly enough to not only screw the guy behind you, but screw yourself up, too, I definitely saw a LOT of that!
Obviously, driving tight into Big Bend or the Left Hander is a defensive move, trying to make you decide whether or not you want to take the long way around, but it messed him up, too.
Too bad for him, but right or wrong, IMO justice was served.

This is p1 and p2 in class and p3 was 10 car lengths behind and we were still pulling away. After the black flag the race was just a DE for me. So what is the point this was lap 5 of a 25 lap race.

I don't see it either. #12 never moved back to the outside for turn 1. He stayed tight. Good, tough racing. What makes it worse is that those were both E class cars.
Maybe a "furled" black flag would have been more prudent at the time with video review later (which IMO would have easily cleared #12 of any wrongdoing).

Not blocking in my view. Defending. He didn't even need to go defensive in the first couple laps as you were not close enough to pass him.
