That I can see a golf course in the top right of your image doesn't bode well, in my opinion, but those are some long straights!

That would be awesome! I have never even been there but have heard about it forever, they had some of the best SCCA racing there in the 60s.

I know NER SCCA has talked to them about running there again. The owners really want it to happen.

Yeah, I noticed that golf course there too. the kiss of death!

Apparently, this was the first road course in the country.

More tracks are always a good thing.

The article includes the quote "better than Lime Rock." Seems unlikely to me, but it's always good to have more tracks.
Speaking of which - what's going on at the proposed Palmer MA SCCA track? Nothing, I'll bet.

My bet too.. Wonder what the daytime noise restrictions are with it being on a golf course?

Isn't Palmer the sight of a mythical casino also? I wonder if...

I don't know if the golf course is a deal breaker, there are a lot of golf courses next to airports.

now if that golf course has condos and houses around it....game over.

Rumor around LRP today was that CVR might be scheduling there next year

I ran there in a stock car. Only 20 laps but it was fun. Very cool. High banks. The transitions from the bank to the road course would be challenging, read: tough on cars, similar to New Hampshire.
If they could work that out and ban golfing we could bring a lot of noise to Thompson. I vote in favor.

Hey, I play golf competitively and drive DEs. I don't see how noisy cars could be more distracting than some yahoos on the next hole yelling at each other.

But, you're probably right. I know a lot of golfers who would just freak out at the thought of racing next dor.

The more tracks the better! I would be able to get more seat time!
I don't think the golf thing is an issue and I'm sure something would be done such as Lime Rock with noise limits. I'm in.
