Default Hawk Carolinas Challenge @ CMP: REGISTRATION IS OPEN

The Carolinas Region PCA is proud to announce our new title sponsor, Hawk Performance, makers of high performance brake pads.

Registration for the Hawk Carolinas Challenge PCA Club Race at Carolina Motorsports Park opens Sept 10 and is the LAST race for those of you on the east to gain valuable Championship points! Race date is October 26-28.

Autometrics is supplying the trophies again this year!!

There will be a Drivers Ed group run with the race too.

Our race is a laid back and very fun event, so come enjoy some Good ol' Southern Hospitality!

So...who's planning to be there? I look forward to seeing all of you there...the more, the merrier!!

Hey Randy,
I assume so, but I don't have the schedule. Bill Scarborough (aka "Alternator Thrower") is the race chair. I'm just dealing with sponsorship and helping with promotion.

I don't think he's racing this year, so we (I) won't have to worry about being hit by errant engine parts...

I don't think I ever thanked you properly for passing me right there and taking the alternator in the chin instead of me. Thanks!
And before I get on the track with Bill again I'm checking his supply of spares in the passenger compartment.
Cheers

Those are awesome, office-worthy trophies (glass).

Email that came from our Race Chair - those of you that have raced with us in the past 3 years probably got this:

By now you are all aware that the Carolinas Region PCA race is definitely on for October 26-28th, and we are pleased to announce that it has been renamed the Hawk Carolinas Challenge due to the generous sponsorship of Hawk Performance Brakes.

The PCA race weekend at CMP never disappoints and this year should prove to be another great event. It’s a 3 day weekend which means plenty of track time and excellent, competitive racing. I understand the track was recently re-ground which means less tire wear and quicker lap times. I can’t think of a time this weekend was rained out or even had a passing shower. I can’t guarantee the weather but history has proved better than some other events on the calendar. Nothing beats fall in North Carolina and what better way to spend it than at CMP with fellow PCA racers!!!

The sponsors have come out in force this year because they know what a great event it is, and we are truly grateful for them all. More than anything though, we need your support and that means making plans to attend the race and encouraging others to come as well.

Registration opens on September 10, but would love to hear who is planning on making it to the Hawk Carolinas Challenge.

Thanks and see you all soon!

More than likely I'll be there for the DE (loved the one last weekend) and to see the Club Racing. Maybe I can convince the GF that Club Racing is not as insane as it sounds.

We must have been on opposite ends of the paddock as I don't remember seeing you there last weekend. Was a great time though, only one session got hit with rain when I was on the track.

As long as its not coming from Bill, you're probably ok. He tends to throw them at you while you're not looking...

I'm still in green. '84 Slate Blue Metallic Targa with RS America tail with orange trim, #202, "Bwunhilde". She and "Barney" the purple M3 virtually tied for the DE car with the most miles, 231k.

We will have a grill going on the tailgate of the pickup, so drop by for a hotdog.
