Epic vid of over-aggressive SM racing/crashing.
SM = Star Mazda. If you thought anything else, you must be prejudiced.
This video is awesome! Note the way neither driver lifts when wheels are interlocked & parts are braking. Also, the camera car's throttle blips while ON TOP of the other car indicate that he was still optimistic at that moment.
I suspect I'm not the only one that considers open wheel drivers to be a bit softer than us fender bashers. Not feeling that way after seeing this vid.

Wow. I like how he thought he might be able to finish with only 3 wheels pointed the right way.
Isn't Star Mazda a stepping stone to Indy cars? Aren't many of those drivers invitees/scholarships from the lesser series, MX5 Cup?

+1 as Kenny Rogers would say, you gotta know when to fold 'em.
I can understand the 1st contact but anything after that, both of them were fools, did they think they were in some lower NASCAR series or World Challenge race and not in open wheels?
That makes it possibly even more stupid, had he kept it cool or had a half a brain, he'd let that other car in front of him, lost only couple of points instead of many more he now did.
It would be interesting to know by how many points he lost that Championship?

He did finish, that was the last lap. The two races that weekend were used for combined points to crown the Formula Car Challenge (FCC) National Champion. The winner would get a chance at a Mazda factory supported ride in the MX-5 Cup series. The camera car driver had won the first race so he was trying to cross the finish line to collect valuable points--he still didn't win it though. I'm not excusing what happened, just stating the facts...

Those must be SM drivers b/c they don't respect each others' equipment. My proof is that my eyes saw it and I read it on the Internet so I must be the expert on this issue. lol
