Mike that was a very funny post, might as well take some laps. I am sure that little miata is blast to drive set up properly. The car has a great stance and good luck.

I know SCCA had a race weekend last weekend AND it's rained a couple of times in the last few days HOWEVER I was out there warming up the track for you guys last Friday and the track had more grip than I can remember it having in quite some time and that was in 95 degree heat. Hopefully that's still the case this weekend and we see some blistering times.

Missed the green flag, and got jumped at the start, which seems to be a talent I have. Coming over Madness I had a feeling something would happen. They call it Madness for a reason.

weren't the IndyCar/ALMS guys complaining about a lack of grip a few weeks ago, in basically similar conditions?

also, I think only 3 of your wheels are on the ground in that pic

It was nice to meet you in person, Mike.

Our race today was fairly drama free, but competitive as promised. I'm proud to report R-listers are were 1st & second today ("KLR" - Neal Agran & yours truly). Last year National Champion qualified 3rd, and finished 4th today - mixing it up!

There was a scary incident in GTS warmup today. Apparently a GTS-1 944 stalled just over the blind hill in Thunder Valley, and was collected very hard almost instantly by an E30 in the next gaggle of cars to crest the hill. This led to a ruptured gas tank, fuel spill across the track, and a moment later, an inferno. Jim Pantas, driver of the E30, ran into the inferno to get the 944 driver out. Both drivers suffered only minor burns. Sometimes we think the 10 second exit drill is silly, until incidents like this come along. I am told there is incredible footage of all this unfolding, which may be used in a safety video.

So Jim did a Senna and got out to help another driver!

Also saw in race 1 today MW 944-Spec took the entire podium.

^^
We miss you, man!
Our data sharing/driver training program is showing up well- 944's also out-qualified all the SM, & SE30's, for budget spec series bragging rights!

Speaking of budget spec series, we got news that SM, SE30, and 944 Spec will be moving to Toyo's new "RR" DOT grooved slick (like) tire for 2013. I will be testing a set next weekend.
