Windows up makes passing signals a little tricky.
You can use turn signals but that can cause problems when the drover behind in the miata swears you gave him a pass and you thought you turned the blinkers off in time. Can lead to mid corner awkwardness.
Or the poor guy who leaves his turn signals on down the back straight and wonders why everybody is going by...
I think the hand signal method is much clearer, but my car doesn't have a nice interior.
Also, because this thread exists, it will be completely dry this weekend

I hope so, the chance of rain has only increased over the last couple of days. But then in Texas, weather can turn around pretty quick too. the track can potentially dry up pretty fast too. I dont know how it has been at TWS in the past.
Tracking with street tires might be a good idea. Do you all bring 2 sets of tires, just in case?
How about brakes, i use the Pagid Blacks for the last track event, might get me in trouble in the wet. I have only used them in twice in the past, i have no issues in the dry.
Hopefully i am not overthinking this weekends conditions.

I have a set of NT05's on my S4 as summer tires and NT01's on my 911 track car - the NT05's will be absolutely fine (even the NT01's were ok in the wet). Focus on braking in a straight line and being smooth with your inputs. Avoid the curbs and any paint. Many cars simply won't go out with their run groups (slicks!!), so I don't think you'll encounter too much traffic.
Drive within your limits and you'll learn a lot. I did at LRP recently!

Don't worry about the brake pads, and if the NT05's have enough tread, they will be fine. NT01's are a different story.
Ive instructed in a ton of rain soaked events, and have yet to see anyone have a real issue regarding having the windows down. When you are driving not much water really comes in the car. For the little bit that does, some folks like to put blue painter tape on the window sill of both doors.
Rain or shine, we will have a great weekend!

I just checked the fore cast on weatherchannel.com and it did not look that bad:
10% chance over Saturday and up to 30% on Sunday. I might still put on the old street rubber, because the brand new (and new to me NT01s) might be too much change combined with wet conditions.

As it turned out, we had rain in the morning before the first instructor session (yay!), and then no more rain for the day. The temperatures were moderate, and the track was excellent. I was fortunate enough to have some great students in white and yellow, each of whom made good progress, including one who got to move to white.
Highlights of the weekend for me personally (above and beyond seeing my students progress) included getting Pat Hartwick in my right seat for coaching, and watching VR drove my Spec Piñata. He emerged from the car with a big grin. As Viking put it, they are great little $hit boxes that are a lot of fun to drive.
