TWS DE - We will have rain!!!
Looks like we are going to have a rainy weekend at TWS. I have never driven a DE in rain or under wet conditions and hear it is a great learning experience.
As much as it excites me, it is scary to think we will have all those cars on track going all out. Especially in the Blue run group, i don't know how many have the relevant experience.
My DE tires are NT05's, are they good in rain?
Would appreciate any words of wisdom from the experts.

TRT41 is right. Think about street tires...
I've been in the rain during DE's a couple of times. You really need to pay attention to track conditions. More than once I've pulled back into the pits on the warm up lap as the track was just too slippery. It can be a great learning experience. But, when the car just in front of you is spinning and then the car just behind you starts to spin, and there's already another car in the grass at that corner, it's time to evaluate whether staying out is a good learning opportunity or an IQ test.

Three Wheelin'
keep your street tires on if you can; avoid standing water moving off the line if necessary; drive less spirited until you get a feeling about track conditions and how your car is behaving.

Sorry, but this reeks of elitism.
I had two students last weekend, both with "fancy leather interiors", both first time newbies.
Both were tuned in, serious, in touch with their cars - one was a naturally gifted driver.
Not all of us have a desire to trash a perfectly good automobile and turn it in to a GT monster.

Kai, Peter is joking...he is a very fast, serious driver with a fancy leather interior in his RS...
Weather says 50% chance of rain, so that is not quite as dire as this thread led me to believe.

DE drovers with leather fancy interiors like me LOL.
No worries.
Last night, I was not even drinking. That much.. ;-)
I'd drive in the rain much more often if we were allowed to close the windows.
Now I dont even bring street/rain tires.
VR knows I drive flatout ;-) and it's my pet peeve that we must drive with the windows down, while some very good organizations go opposite; They make you drive with windows up. This includes pretty much every track and every club in Europe and some of the brighter PCA chapters.. Never mind that many cars close up everything automatically when you crash..
Windows down is less safe, uncomfortable, messes up my alcantara head liner ;-) but that's a topic for another thread.
Have fun this weekend everyone, hopefully it wont be too bad and the track might dry quickly!

I would think the LSR region could afford to buy those little glass-shattering tools all the paramedics carry, and issue them to each corner station...
