No doubt about it, Hamilton made the right choice and looks like 2016 will be much the same especially since he is so
Much better than his teammate. Maybe the thread title should include Alonso instead of Hamilton... Although I believe Honda will get better and better it's doubtful they can compete for wins in 2016

Next year Manor will have Merc power. So unless Honda makes significant improvement, they won't even be able to say, "At least we aren't in last place for points." It is unbelievable how poorly they are doing. They have essentially had NO improvement after the first race.

I am still surprised at Alonso decision to move to (back to?) McLaren.

When Hamilton made the move I assumed he knew something the rest of us didn't know... Looks like that is still the case!

Maybe Rosberg will pull a Rudy, or something out of SnowJob, or Bad News Bears, or Mighty Ducks next year...

The lights dim:
(The sound of F1 cars racing)
(Screen shows Mercedes racing)
(Deep voiced announcer comes on)
against all odds, when everybody counted him out, when we was the only one who still believed he could become champion
(Screeching of tires, crunch sound, Pit radio: "Nico? Are you okay? Nico?")
(Deep voiced announcer again)
he pulled off one of the greatest upsets in F1 history by defeating his teammate in every single race of the 2017 season...
(Cut to champagne podium scene with a dejected Hamilton not participating)
(Cut to podium prep room, Nico throws hat at seated and pouting Hamilton)
"Here is your second place hat... bitch!"

Doubtful... but funny if it happens like that...

So, DUI is nowadays called "fever"... Funny how money can make you pass a breathalyzer test.

I love the title to this thread. Its a reminder of the dangers of taking a strong decision such as calling someone's ex-wife or girlfriend a ***** and then they get back together!

Funny, but I don't see that happening. Rosberg is a #2 driver.

It's fun to see what the prognosticators said back in the beginning of this thread. A few got it right, but most didn't.

Two WDCs in 3 years at Mercedes. I don't see the run ending anytime soon unless Ferrari takes a big step forward. I think Bottas will be in the mix next year.

This does with a bit of hindsight seem to be a tiny bit off base.

Phew!! I recalled saying something like this, but I hoped that I didn't believe that Ferrari could fight for the WDC in 2015. I am going to remain confident in my prediction that 2016 will be a dog fight for WDC. Hamilton, Rosberg, and Vettel all competitive... perhaps even others.

I also predicted that this thread would become childish and annoying... I was wrong and I am now humbled.

I never said it or posted it anywhere but I sure as hell thought it. More than once I thought he had made a huge mistake switching teams.

My only problem with anointing Lewis as the next Ayrton Senna is that for the past 2 years the only one that he has had to beat is Rosberg, such is the superiority of the Mercedes, especially down the straight. Schumacher, Alonso & Vettel have all won at least 1 championship each in cars that were barely equal to the others at the time. They did it on driving skill and strategy, not with outright horsepower.

stumbled across this article dating way back to 2011. It's easier to entice a new driver to come to your team if you know your power unit is way ahead of schedule...

He's still a complete idiot - just for a different reason!

TBH - it would have been interesting if Hammy got taken out in the beginning an the title went to the next race.
